Especially once the poisonous frogs turn up, you villagers will get sick quite often.
#Virtual villagers 3 walkthrough upgrade#
It’s not vital but I recommend you upgrade it earlier rather than later – it helps to have skilled villagers working for longer. It will make your villagers healthier and expand their life expectancy. Medicine: Like Research, this won’t be discussed and it’s up to you to decide when you upgrade it. If it looks like you’re running out of food, you either need more Farmers or should upgrade your Farming Technology. Recommended to upgrade earlier rather than later.įarming: While you’ll be prompted to upgrade your Farming Technology a few times in the walkthrough, you should keep an eye on your food supply (shown at the top of the screen). Improved Research Technology means faster generation of TP. Research: Level 3 will be required towards the end of the game. This is where you can upgrade the Technology. You can see your TP balance at the top-left of the screen. TP can also be gained various other sources – Daily Rewards crate, random events, exploring cracks etc… Villagers set to Research will work at the Research Table, located on the paved area towards the centre of the island. A statue may require an Adept Builder and Construction Level 1 to create, for example.

Many of the puzzles have both a requirement for the villager’s skill level and a requirement for the Technology Level. These start at Level 0 and will need to be upgraded to Level 3. In addition to individual villagers, there is also a Technology Level relating to the 5 skills.

This is relevant, especially early on, as they cannot perform any tasks while this happens. New mothers will nurse their babies for several hours after they are born.

Unless you want to actively playing the game, you should have all your villagers set to auto-breed. Fortunately, there is an option on the character information page you can select to have them auto-breed, which should mean they maintain the population automatically. Once that’s done, dragging a villager onto another of the opposite sex may lead to them visiting, which in turn may result in a baby (which happens immediately). One of the first tasks in the game is to repair the Breeding Hut. That should be enough to get them going automatically, so try to match their jobs with existing skill where possible. Having said that, villagers are often born with just a little skill in one of Researching, Building or Farming. On the character information screen, you can select the option next to the skill you want them to work on, but just doing that usually won’t do anything until you manually get them started. Keep trying and eventually they’ll get better. When setting a villager to a task, they will likely fail few times (it’s random). They will quickly fill to around half way, where the villager will become Adept, then slow down considerably as they progress to almost full, when the villager will become a Master. Progress is not consistent across these bars. Villagers can develop several or even all skills (which is required and time-consuming, but there is an easy workaround discussed at the start of the next page). The bars on the right side of the character information screen relate to their skills and will fill up as they become better at the task. Information on the villager’s skills can be seen by selecting them and pressing. Any reference to “a Villager” means that anyone can do it, eg. If an Adept Builder is mentioned, a Master can also complete the task. Many of the puzzle tasks can only be performed by villagers of a certain level. The more skilled a villager is, the more likely they are to succeed (there aren’t any negative outcomes if they fail nothing happens). Skills move from “Untrained” to “Adept” and up to “Master”. To develop a skill, the villager simply needs to perform the relevant task collecting food improves Farming for example. There are 5 skills that villagers can develop – Farming, Healing, Building, Research and Gathering. So, if in doubt you can just drag your villagers around the island and see what happens. You can’t really do anything wrong or out of order and the game is very good with its messaging – if a child is required for a task and you try to use an adult, you’ll see a message similar to “ This villager is too old for this” at the bottom of the screen. The island is littered with resources and buildings you’ll want your villagers to interact with – just drag them onto the item to do so. Moving a villager is as simple as hovering over them and holding, releasing to put them down. Villagers can be selected by hovering over them and pressing, or by cycling through them all with and.
